Shopify lets you set tags on customers, which is a way to describe your customers. To quote the Shopify documentation:
"Using tags can help you organize your customer profile list. You can use tags to label your customers with categories or descriptive terms. For example, if you have wholesale customers, then you can tag those customers as wholesale."
In the past, Merchant Mail would show you existing tags for a customer but you had to go into Shopify admin to change or set tags for a customer.
Now you can sets tags when creating or editing a Shopify customer using the Merchant Mail Gmail add-on.
Each Shopify customer can have multiple addresses associated with them. There's a default address and Shopify also stores the last 10 addresses that a customer has entered.
In the past, Merchant Mail would show you the default address for a customer, but you had to go into Shopify admin to change the default address or see and change any of the other customer addresses.
Now you can change the default address and see and change any of the other customer addresses using the Merchant Mail Gmail add-on.
By default, Shopify stores allow anonymous checkouts but they can be configured with optional or required customer accounts. Required customers accounts are often seen in wholesale and similar businesses.
If you use customer accounts, you may wish to send account invite emails (also known as account activation emails) when you create a new customer.
Now you can send account invite emails when you create customers using the Merchant Mail Gmail add-on. It's an option that needs to be enabled manually since there's no way for us to know whether your store requires customer accounts. See the "learn more" link below to learn how.
